 LifeX is a health and wellness company that hires individuals as part-time W-2 employees. This employment status qualifies you for access to their employer-sponsored health benefit plan that offers rich PPO coverage and extensive provider access, ensuring you receive top-tier care and financial peace of mind.  
 

You’ll continue working your regular job, freelancing, or running your business. LifeX employs people to help with their health and wellness research with the added bonus of health and other wellness benefits—there are only minimal work hours or job duties answering 15 minute assessments a few times during the year - and you are paid for your time.


LifeX employs individuals as part-time W-2 Research Associate employees.


As employees, participants may become eligible to enroll in LifeX’s employer-sponsored health benefit plan.


This plan is:

  • Governed under federal ERISA law
  • Structured as a self-funded employer health plan
  • Supported by a dedicated ERISA health plan trust
  • Protected by stop-loss insurance for high-cost claims
  • Administered by a third-party administrator
  • Designed to provide access to national PPO networks

This is not an individual insurance policy sold directly to the public.

  • Participation in the LifeX employer health plan requires:
  • Completion of a medical assessment as part of the employment process
  • Accurate disclosure of medical history
  • Review and approval prior to enrollment
  • Ongoing compliance with employment requirements


Employment status — and continued participation in the plan — depends on meeting these requirements.


All applicants are required to review and sign an employment attestation confirming their understanding of the medical assessment process and eligibility requirements prior to enrollment.


This plan is designed for individuals who meet the employer’s participation criteria and may not be suitable for everyone.


LifeX may be appropriate for:

  • Self-employed individuals
  • 1099 contractors
  • Realtors, consultants, gig workers
  • Early retirees not yet Medicare eligible
  • Individuals seeking PPO access in states with limited ACA options


It may not be appropriate for individuals who:

  • Do not meet the participation or eligibility requirements
  • Prefer guaranteed-issue ACA Marketplace plans
  • Require coverage without employment qualification steps
